En la gran mayoria de lepidopteros la localizacion para el acoplamiento se consigue mediante feromonas sexuales, que son sustancias emitidas generalmente por las hembras y que inducen un comportamiento de atraccion y de copula en los machos. La utilizacion de las feromonas sexuales, como alternativa al uso de los insecticidas convencionales en el control de plagas, se debe a sus caracteristicas de inocuidad, elevada especificidad y empleo en peque\u00f1as cantidades. El uso de feromonas constituye un elemento basico en el control integrado de plagas, si bien, en algunos casos es tambien eficaz la utilizacion de antiferomonas, es decir, agentes que actuan bloqueando el sistema de comunicacion quimica. En la presente tesis se considera el estudio feromonal de cuatro plagas de insectos: spodoptera littoralis boisd., plaga polifaga; thaumetopoea pityocampa schiff., Plaga forestal; zeuzera pyrina l., Plaga de arboles frutales y sesamia nonagrioides lef., Plaga del maiz. Los objetivos que se han pretendido conseguir han sido:  1. Estudiar la actividad de los machos de las diferentes especies en electroantenograma y tunel de viento ante hembras y diferentes componentes feromonales como fuente de atraccion; 2. Determinar la actividad inhibidora de la percepcion feromonal de algunas trifluorometilcetonas y compuestos analogos de la feromona y 3.
