De las nuevas tecnicas de estudio de la composicion corporal, el bia es una de las mas utiles al no ser invasiva y de facil aplicacion.  el objetivo de este estudio ha sido ver si existen diferencias en la composicion corporal entre rn aeg y peg de peso menor de 2.500 g mediante la exploracion bia.  material y metodo se han estudiado 41 rn de peso menor de 2.500 g (27 aeg y 14 peg). Se determino eg (ballard), peso, talla, perimetros, pliegues y parametros bia con un impedanciometro 101s(rjl systems), con un sistema tetrapolar con una corriente de 800 mca a una frecuencia de 50khz. Determinamos outliers, analisis de correlaciones modelos anova, test de kolmogorov-smirnov, analisis lineal discriminante y otros.  resultados encontramos tres observaciones extremas estrictas en variables antropometricas y bia que ocasionaban una perdida de la normalidad. Hemos hallado una correlacion positiva en el grupo aeg de ht2\/r con eg y peso, no encontrandose en el grupo de peg. En analisis anova encontramos que no existen diferencias antropometricas entre grupos aunque si en cuanto a la eg y parametros bia. Dichos datos se corroboraron mediante test de comparaciones multiples.  comentarios las correlaciones entre parametros bia y eg en los rn aeg nos indican que son una medida del agua corporal total, y
