En concreto, se ha centrado en dos modelos matematicos de lubricacion elastohidrodinamica con cavitacion que incluyen, por una parte, las dificultades intrinsecas de los problemas de frontera libre y, por otra, las no linealidades debidas a las leyes de comportamiento de los fluidos que intervienen.  en relacion con el analisis matematico, se han obtenido resultados de existencia de solucion para el problema elastohidrodinamico de tipo hertziano con fluidos piezoviscosos y condiciones de contorno de tipo mixto.  asimismo, se ha demostrado la existencia de solucion para el problema elastohidrodinamica de tipo placa con condiciones de contorno periodicas.  en cuanto al analisis numerico, se han combinado las siguientes tecnicas: algoritmos de \u00abregula falsi\u00bb para ajustar la carga impuesta; algoritmos de punto fijo para desacoplar las partes hidrodinamica y elastica; algoritmos de transporte-difusion para tratar los terminos de caracter convectivo; metodos de dualidad
