En el mundo urbano, la promocion de las aglomeraciones urbanas principales o secundarias a obispados y el proceso de cristianizacion, dan lugar a cambios irreversibles en la topografia. Lejos del catastrofismo y de las tesis basadas en la \u00abruptura\u00bb de la \u00abciudad\u00bb antigua, esta va a ser objeto de transformaciones y adaptaciones. En el mundo rural, asistimos entre el 400 y el 700 a una serie de transformaciones internas del poblamiento rural romano: un declive lento pero progresivo de los establecimientos rurales antiguos, de sus formas de organizacion y de ocupacion del suelo. Desde el 600 y sobre todo entre el 700 y el 800, factores internos y externosprovocaran la desestructuracion del poblamiento antiguo y la eclosion de un habitat disperso y marginal en las \u00abfronteras\u00bb del paisaje rural romano. El proceso de reorganizacion territorial desde el 865, restructurara el poblamiento romano a partir de los obispados y monasterios. En el habitat fortificado, la ocupacion\/reoocupacion de los sitios de altura es una constante en un territorio de \u00abfrontera\u00bb.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>Datos acad\u00e9micos de la tesis
