La naturaleza exacta de estos factores testiculares diferentes a la testosterona y producidos por las celulas de sertoli es desconocido, pero, los miembros de la superfamilia del tgf-b son probables candidatos. Estudiamos la regulacion de la expresion genica de sst en celulas hipotalamicas feyales de rata en cultivo, llevada a cabo por diversos miembros de la superfamilia del tgf-b (activina, inhibina, tgf-b1, tgf-b2,tgf-b3) y folistatina.  nuestros resultados indican que la inhibina ejerce un efecto inhibitorio sobre la sintesis y secrecion de sst en neuronas hipotalamicas fetales de rata en cultivo, mientras que la activina a ejerce un efecto antagonico.  estos efectos son dependientes de una (s) proteinas que median sus efectos. La inhibina estimula la velocidad de degradacion del arnm de sst mientras que la activina no afecta a la estabilidad del arnm de sst.  la folistatina per se no origina cambios sobre la sintesis y secrecion de sst hipotalamica, pero bloquea los efectos de la activina e inhibina sobre la sintesis y secrecion de sst hipotalamica. El tgf-b1, tgf-b2, tgf-b3, inhiben la sintesis y secrecion de sst hipotalamica. El efecto del tfg-b1 es dependiente de una (s) proteinas que estimula la velocidad de degradacion del arnm de sst.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>Datos acad\u00e9micos de la tesis doctoral
