En primer lugar se emplea el ensayo con fotobacterias, ensayo normalizado y de referencia para evaluar toxicidad de compuestos quimicos calculando la ec50 para estos productos y la toxicidad que presentan efluentes industriales antes y despues de ser sometidos a un proceso de depuracion. Como segundo bioindicador se utiliza una microalga y se pone a punto la tecnica de analisis de imagenes para aplicarla a la evaluacion de toxicidad comprobando si el efecto toxico tiene relacion con cambios morfologicos en las microalgas. Finalmente se utiliza una tecnica microcalorimetrica para medida de efectos toxicos sobre poblaciones bacterianas aerobias, tanto heterotrofas como nitrificantes. Se pretende emplear esta tecnica como un sistema de medida en continuo de la actividad biologica de estas comunidades presentes en sistemas de tratamiento de aguas residuales para evaluar posibles
