Los an\u00e1lisis de predicic\u00f3n de dominios funcionales tampoco sugieren una posible localizaci\u00f3n o funci\u00f3n para la misma. Pese a ello,la relativa abundancia del mrna de kap, sulocalizaci\u00f3n exclusiva en el epitelio del t\u00fabulo proximal y el estricto control multihormonal de su expresi\u00f3n, sugieren que podr\u00edan tratarse de una prote\u00edna de relevancia en fisiolog\u00eda renal y por ello el objetivo de esta tesis es la identificaci\u00f3n y la caracterizaci\u00f3n funcional de la prote\u00edna kap.  la producci\u00f3n de anticuerpos monoclonales contra dos p\u00e9ptidos sint\u00e9ticos de la prote\u00edna kap nos ha pemitido identificar end\u00f3gena por inmunohistoqu\u00edmica y western  blot en ri\u00f1\u00f3n murino. La distribuci\u00f3n celular y control androg\u00e9nico se corresponde con la del mrna y su tama\u00f1o aparente es de 20 kda. La prote\u00edna tambi\u00e9n ha sido expresada y caracterizada en sistemas heter\u00f3logos tales como bacterias y levadura.  ensayos de dos h\u00edbridos en levadura han permitido observar que kap interacciona de forma espec\u00edfica con le receptor de csa, cypb, habi\u00e9ndose confirmado la interacci\u00f3n por t\u00e9cnicas de pull down.
