En la primerase tratan los fundamentos teoricos que subyacen a la ense\u00f1anza de la composicion escrita. Para ello se hace, por una parte, una historia de la investigacion realizada sobre la composicion escrita en las tres ultimas decadas y, por otra parte, un repaso de los modelos metodologicos a disposicion del profesorado para la ense\u00f1anza de esta parcela de la didactica de la lengua. En la segunda parte se analiza el material curricular que existe en el mercado editorial a disposicion del profesorado para su uso en las aulas.  por ultimo, en la tercera parte, se investiga como se lleva a cabo la ense\u00f1anza de la composicion escrita en la aulas.
