Se resalta la seropreValencia de esta enfermedad, resaltando su incidencia principalmente en la poblacion infantil. Se resalta igualmente que la tecnica dat es muh adecuada para este tipo de estudios. Se detecta igualmente un nivel muy alto de reacciones cruzadas entre las diferentes especies del genero leishmania. La tecnica de inmunoblot reconocen a gran numero de bandas presentando diferencias entre las especies.
