En nuestro trabajo hemos estudiado la expresion de estas quinasas mediante hibridacion in situ y estudios de northern blot viendo que la expresion de la isoforma alpha es preferentemente cerebral.  se han aislado cuatro variantes para esta isoforma alpha mediante estudios de pcr y busqueda en bibliotecas de cdna. Tambien hemos aislado el gen que codifica la proteina quinasa alpha jnk\/sapk y hemos propuesto un mecanismo para la generacion de las cuatro variantes de la isoforma alpha a partir de ese gen.
