En los dos primeros se ensayo el empleo de 4 ui de oxitocina, comparando la administracion intravulvar frente a la adicion de dicha dosis a la dosis seminal. En los otros dos grupos se estudio el uso de pgf2a del mismo modo comparando la administracion intravulvar frente a la adicion de la sustancia a la dosis seminal en el momento previo a su aplicacion por ia. Tanto la oxitocina como la pg f2a mejoran sensiblemente la eficacia reproductiva de la explotacion durante la epoca de infertilidad estacional. Durante el periodo de bajo rendimiento reproductivo (julio, agosto, septiembre), la fertilidad en las cerdas que recibieron 4 ui de oxitocina en la dosis seminal en el momento previo a la inseminacion fue del 73,02%, en las que recibieron esta misma hormona via intravulvar fue del 62,50% en las que recibieron 5 mg de pg f2a a\u00f1adida a la dosis seminal en el momento previo a la ia fue del 69,35% y del 75,38% cuando la hormona era administrada via intravulvar justo antes de la ia. En el grupo testigo la fertilidad fue del 54,39%.
