En el capitulo primero se ensaya esclarecer las bases epistemologicas sobre las que fundar una lectura semejante y se adelanta ya la conclusi\u00f3n final de este trabajo en lo que se refiere a las funciones y valores de la poesia. En el capitulo segundo explora los temas rectores de la poesia de cernuda en la secci\u00f3n inaugural de la realidad y el deseo, primeras poesias, a estos tres temas se consagran los capitulos siguientes. El capitulo tercero analiza exhaustivamente el tema central de la obra cernudiana, el deseo, insertado en la tradici\u00f3n de la filosofia del deseo, da pie a una teoria del amor original que incorpora hallazgos de nietzche y la hermeneutica. el capitulo cuarto est\u00e1 dedicado a la fuerza antagonista del deseo, la realidad, analizada en tres de sus figuraciones: el muro, el tiempo, y el silencio. El capitulo quinto supone el primer abordaje siste\u00e1tico del otro gran principio vertebrador de la obra de cernuda, el olvido, su plurifuncionalidad permite concitar referencias de peso como schopenhauer, nietzsche, y la mistica.
