Jes\u00fas <\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>En el presente trabajo me propuse estudiar, mediante tecnicas diagnosticas de biolog\u00eda molecular, la incidencia de la infeccion por el virus de la hepatitis c (vhc) en poblaciones donde la infeccion por dicho virus debia ser trascendente (receptores de trasplante hepatico, rth, o renal, rtry adultos, con hepatitis cronica por virus c).Tambien se evaluo la distribucion de los genotipos del virus en diferentes poblaciones de nuestro medio (ni\u00f1os con infeccion por vhc y donantes de sangre, ademas de los grupos ya citados) y se analizo la relacion de dicho genotipo con la carga viral, la lesion histologica y la respuesta al interferon (ifn).Los resultados obtenidos mostraron una preValencia de infeccion por vhc del 22% en rth, 16% en rtr, 56% en enfermos con hepatocarcinoma y 45% en aquellos con cirrosis hepatica. El genotipo 1b fue el predominante en todas las poblaciones sin que se encontrara ninguna relacion entre la carga viral y los diferentes tipos en rth y en adultos con hepatitis cronica c.
