Esta asociaci\u00f3n no se ve modificada por la presencia o ausencia de tgf-beta en el medio, ni por el estado de activaci\u00f3n de los receptores. En la asociaci\u00f3n endoglina\/tbetars participan tanto el dominio extracelular como intracelular de las prote\u00ednas. Las caracter\u00edsticas de la interacci\u00f3n endoglina\/tbetar-i y endoglina\/tbetar-ii son distintas. el receptor tipo ii interacciona con la regi\u00f3n comprendida entre los amino\u00e1cidos 437-558 del dominio extracelular de endoglina, mientras que el receptor tipo i interacciona con al menos dos regiones del dominio extracelular de endoglina, una comprendida entre los amino\u00e1cidos 437-558 y otra por encima del amino\u00e1cido 437. Ambos receptores interaccionan tambi\u00e9n con el tallo citopl\u00e1smico de endoglina, pero mientras que tbetar-i solo lo hace cuando su dominio quinasa est\u00e1 inactivo, tbetar-ii permanece asociado al tallo citopl\u00e1smico de endoglina independientemente del estado de activaci\u00f3n del receptor. Adem\u00e1s de existir una interacci\u00f3n directa, hemos demostrado que el tallo citopl\u00e1smico de endoglina es sustrato de la actividad quinasa de tbetar-i y de tbetar-ii. Una vez fosforilato por tbetar-ii, el tallo citopl\u00e1smico de endoglina permanece asociado a \u00e9l.  por otra parte, los resultados indican:  a,- que la presencia de endoglina en la c\u00e9lula disminuye la capacidad de autofosforilarse de tbetar-ii, resultando en una menor fosforilaci\u00f3n del receptor tipo ii in vivo.  b,- el receptor tipo i se demuestra m\u00e1s fosforilado en c\u00e9lulas que expresan endoglina.  c,- este receptor tipo i m\u00e1s fosforilado aumenta su actividad quinasa sobre su sustrato smad2, pero no sobre smad3. Por ello concluimos que la interacci\u00f3n de endoglina con los receptores de tgf-beta modula la actividad se\u00f1alizador de dichos receptores.  adem\u00e1s, hemos demostrado que el tallo
