Integrado a la medicina china tradicional por el emperador huang di, en el s.Xxvi a. c., El qi gong ha sido tradicionalmente practicado por las familias letradas, los sabios tao\u00edstas y los monjes budistas y desde hace varios a\u00f1os se ha difundido por europa a traves especialmente de los maestros que huyeron de la revolucion cultural. Arte de inspiracion han(zen en japones), el qi gong es una via de desarrollo de la conciencia y un camino hacia la experiencia de la unidad esencial de todo lo existente.  la hipotesis es que el qi gong es una practica corporal que en el contexto europeo estudiado genera traducibilidad cultural entre oriente y occidente. estudiamos los aspectos que reviste dicha traducibilidad, entendida como esa paralela o pasarelas culturales que permiten la comunicaci\u00f3n entre individuos portadores de culturas distintas. A partir de diferentes perspectivas te\u00f3ricas y conceptuales que conciernen la antropolog\u00eda del cuerpo, la antropolog\u00eda de la medicina y la antropolog\u00eda visual, se analiza como el discurso del qi gong integra a la retorica tradicional china, lenguajes occidentales como la fisica newtoniana o la embriolog\u00eda. Asimismo, como esta practica corporal que canaliza una nueva concepcion del cuerpo, la salud y la vida, es vivida por los practicantes integrandose en su vida cotidiana. Por ultimo, se describe qi gong como un sistema corporal que genera un nuevo paisaje visual en los espacios europeos y que se articula entorno a dos dimensiones: una dimension visible-el cuerpo, el gesto, el espacio-y una dimension invisible -el qi, souffle, energia o halito vital. Practicar es apropiarse de un universo de nuevas significaciones que gira entorno a la nocion china de qi, principio que fundamenta todas las formas de vida, el invisible soplo que sustenta todo el
