El objetivo del trabajo radica en determinar como afecta el tama\u00f1o y la carga ionica del huesped al proceso de intercalacion en w18o49. Para hacer tal comparacion es indispensable la elaboracion de un diagrama de fases en cada uno de los sistemas a\/w18o49(a = li, na, zn y mg).  asi se ha procedido a tal estudio mediante el empleo de las tecnicas electroquimicas (espectroscopia electroquimica) para determinar los distintos procesos de reduccion-oxidacion existentes, su termodinamica y cinetica de intercalacion, y finalmente se ha abordado tambien su caracterizacion estructural.  una segunda parte del trabajo se dedica a la intercalacion en los polimorfos del wo3. Este es probablemente una de las fases mas estudiadas. Lo extenso de este estudio no solo se basa en las numerosas e interesantes propiedades fisicas determinadas para las fases axwo3, sino tambien, en la gran variedad de especies
