Ach. Contiene las poliaminas putrescina, espermidina y espermina. Son aminas alifaticas protonadas a valores de ph fisiologico.  se han aislado como metabolitos libres, asi como conjugados a acido evernico, que es el fenol mas abundante de esta especie. La conjugacion a dicho fenol, forma parte, asimismo, de un complejo integrado por la union de poliamina-proteina y poliamina-adn. Las poliaminas se sintetizan por dos rutas alternativas: via arginina descarboxilasa (adc) y via ornitina descarboxilasa (odc). Las dos rutas parecen ser funcionales en e.
