La inhibicion de la sintesis de no produce hipertension. El objetivo de este trabajo fue estudiar los mecanismos implicados en dicha hipertension.  la hipertension experimental inducida por la administracion del inhibidor de la sintesis de no, lname, en ratas parece ser debida principalmente a la supresion de la accion vasodilatadora tonica del no. Esto produciria un desequilibrio que permitiria la sobreexpresion de las acciones de los sistemas vasconstrictores, y seria responsable del aumento de la presion arterial. Durante dicha hipertension se produce da\u00f1o renal, como se manifiesta por la elevada proteinuria. La angiotensina ii y un factor constrictor derivado del ac. Araquidonico por la via de la ciclooxigenasa parecen estar implicados en dicho da\u00f1o renal. La administracion cronica del inhibidor de la sintesis de no no empeora la relajacion dependiente de endotelio en vasos de resistencia, debido a un aumento compensador de la participacion del edhf en dicha respuesta. El tratamiento con un inhibidor del enzima convertidor de angiotensina y un bloqueante de los canales de calcio atenua la hipertension y previene el da\u00f1o renal inducido por la inhibicion cronica de la sintesis de no. Asimismo, dichos tratamientos restablecen la participacion del no y la prostaciclina en la relajacion dependiente de endotelio.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>Datos acad\u00e9micos de la tesis doctoral
