Carmen <\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Actualmente existe un gran interes por el estudio de los microorganismos que viven en ambientes extremos, con temperaturas elevadas, ph acidos o alcalinos, altas concentraciones de sales, para avanzar en el conocimiento de cuales son los microorganismos capaces de vivir y multiplicarse en estas condiciones ambientales, sino sobre todo, que caracteristicas metabolicas hacen esto posible.  por estas razones, en esta tesis nos hemos propuesto, el estudio de la biodiversidad microbiana de varios manantiales minero-medicinales termales que, actualmente, se utilizan por sus propiedades terapeuticas. Los objetivos han sido la investigacion de los microorganismos de interes sanitario y ecologico. Los manantiales contienen un numero bajo de bacterias aerobias viables, principalmente mesofilas y termofilas facultativas. No se han detectado microorganismos patogenos. El numero de cepas bacterianas heterotrofas aisladas ha sido 747.
