Se demostro que las enzimas gr y dhar estan localizadas en la matriz de ambos organulos, mientras apx y mdhar estan ubicadas en las membranas de mitocondrias y peroxisomas. Se estudio el efecto de la senescencia inducida sobre los componentes del ciclo asc-glu y sobre la generacion de especies activadas de oxigeno en mitocondrias y en peroxisomas y se demostro el establecimiento en ambos orgonulos de un estres oxidativo mediado por radicales superoxido y peroxido de hidrogeno.  se sugirio un papel para los peroxisomas en los procesos de transduccion de se\u00f1ales que conducen a la expresion de genes especificos en condiciones de senescencia foliar.  finalmente, se llevo a cabo la clonacion de una proteina de hojas de guisante que puede corresponder a una glutation peroxidasa (gpx) similar a las descritas en sistemas animales, en base a su elevada similitud en la secuencia de aminoacidos deducida, con la presentada por estas enzimas.
