El oxido nitrico actuaria como mediador entre las elevaciones de presion arterial a nivel preglomerular y el aumento de flujo sanguineo medular, dando origen a la diuresis y natriuresis de presion.  la circulacion medular renal esta regulada, fundamentalmente, por el oxido nitrico, con escasa participacion del sistema renina- angiotensina y de los nervios simpaticos
