Melvin green en 1986. Este ensayo detecta la reversion del gen wi a w+. Dadas las dispares metodolog\u00edas utilizadas, en primer lugar se determino cuales eran las condiciones idoneas para realizar el ensayo. A continuacion, se estudio su capacidad para detectar un grupo de carcinogenos \u00abno genotoxicos\u00bb, ya que segun la hipotesis emitida por schiestl, podrian inducir recombinacion intracromosomica. En tercer lugar, se ensayo un alto numero de compuestos representativos de diferentes mecanismos de accion, con el animo de evaluar la capacidad del ensayo como detector de genotoxicidad.  por ultimo, se exploraron las consecuencias de la utilizacion de mutaciones que confieren deficiencia en reparacion del adn. Las principales conclusiones obtenidas son: la linea c(1)dx,y,f\/dp(1:1:1:1)wi, y2 es la mas adecuada para realizar este ensayo. La mejor estimacion de la frecuencia de reversion, es la frecuencia de ojos mosaico. La sensibilidad del ensayo es de 0,76. Puesto que este ensayo no parece presentar ventajas sustanciales frente a los ensayos smar w\/w+ y mwh\/flr3, no se recomienda su uso como ensayo general para la deteccion de efectos genotoxicos.
