Como consecuencia de la amplitud de su concepto legal, se convierte en un instrumento idoneo para ajustar la cuantia y la distribucion del tiempo de trabajo al estrictamente necesario en cada empresa y para limitar con ello algunos de sus costes. De igual modo, puede conformarse como mecanismo de fomento del empleo, facilitando la insercion en el mercado laboral de sujetos que no pueden trabajar a tiempo completo, utilizandose como medida alternativa al despido frente a crisis empresariales y como instrumento de reparto voluntario del trabajo. El contrato a tiempo parcial reune los elementos tipicos del contrato ordinario y los derechos de los trabajadores a jornada completa deben predicarse en terminos igualitarios de los trabajadores a tiempo parcial. No obstante, este trabajo tiene cierta atipicidad respecto del modelo adoptado como presupuesto del derecho del trabajo, por lo que algunas reglas generales deberan adaptarse en terminos de racionalidad o proporcionalidad, lo que conlleva un mayor protagonismo de la autonomia de las partes en su regulacion.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>Datos acad\u00e9micos de la tesis doctoral
