Tambien son probablemente cancerigenos para el ser humano.  el metodo tradicional de eliminacion de este tipo de compuestos, que se encuentran contenidos en medios organicos, es la incineracion termica a alta temperatura (1300 k), lo que supone un considerable coste energetico.  este proceso presenta el problema adicional de formacion de otros compuestos toxicos, tales como fosgeno o dioxinas, debido a la presencia de oxigeno y a las elevadas temperaturas.  la hidrodescloracion catalitica se presenta como un procedimiento eficaz para el tratamiento de este tipo de residuos, ya que no se ha detectado la formacion de otros compuestos organoclorados.  se han estudiado las reacciones de hidrodescloracion catalitica del dcm, tca, tce y ttce a escala de laboratorio, utilizando reactores de lecho fijo, con un catalizador comercial de ni-mo soportado sobre  -alumina, sulfurado, y con distintas alimentaciones constituidas por mezclas de compuestos organoclorados disueltos en
