La progresion por el ciclo de division depende de la aparicion periodica de actividad quinasa. En schizosecchoromyces pombe una unica quinasa, codificada por el gen cda2+, es capaz de promover la progresion por todos los puntos del ciclo celular. Esta quinasa debe asociarse a una subunidad positiva (denominada ciclina) para ser activa. El objetivo de este trabajo ha sido la identificacion de las ciclinas que activan a cdc2 en la fase g1 del ciclo celular. Se ha demostrado que la ciclina cig2 es la encargada de promover la progresion por g1. Ademas, otras ciclinas con expresion posterior en el ciclo celular (cig1 y cdc13) son capaces de llevar a cabo esta funcion. Hemos definido a menol como un inhibidor de coks que interacion fisicamente con cig2 in vivo y es capaz de inhibir la actividad quinasa asociada a cig2 in vitro.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>Datos
