Ademas de las bases legales y una rica documentacion en folletos, prensa y manuales escolares, se aborda lo que viene desnominandose la religiosidad civica. Se constata, por la propia historia de portugal, que el pais precisa de un relanzamiento del sentido patriitucim de su afirmacion como nacion. Para alcanzar tales objetivos el instrumento fundamental y decisivo es el sistema educativo, sobre todo el primario. De esta manera la escuela primaria organizara fiestas de gran contenido simbolico para los ni\u00f1os, como es el caso de la fiesta del arbol, la fiesta del libro, o un impulso al culto a la bandera, a los batallones escolares. He ahi la centralidad de la educacion civica precisamente en una etapa como la de la i republica.
