En todos los casos se ha estudiado la evolucion de los mismos con la temperatura hacia los correspondientes oxidos y pirovanadatos en su caso. Tanto las muestras originales como los oxidos han sido caracterizados por las tecnicas de difraccion y absorcion de rayos x, analisis termico diferencial y termogravimetrico, espectroscopias ft-ir y uv y reduccion a temperatura programada.  todos los sistemas preparados tienen estructura laminar con los cationes ocupando huecos octaedricos. La calcinacion a temperaturas intermedias da lugar a la formacion de fases amorfas, con alta superficie especifica, que evolucionan a fases espinelas al aumentar la temperatura de calcinacion.
