Para ello hemos realizado dos exploraciones fotometricas ccd en los filtros ri e iz que han cubierto 0.16 grados 2 y 1 grado 2 en el centro del cumulo, y alcanzado magnitudes limite i= 21.0 y 22.2, respectivamente.  estas exploraciones han permitido descubrir candidatos a enanas marrones con magnitudes 17.8 &lt;-i&lt;- 22.2 y colores muy rojos (r-i 2, i &#8211; z = 0.5 mag). En base a todos los modelos teoricos de evolucion estelar\/subestelar y a la edad de las pleyades, estos objetos deben tener masas en el intervalo 0.08-0.03 m y, por tanto, ser enanas marrones. Las observaciones infrarrojas j h k prueban que se trata de objetos muy frios que definen la secuencia fotometrica menos luminosa del cumulo en todas las longitudes de onda. Estas observaciones se han mostrado eficientes para distinguir a los verdaderos miembros del cumulo de los posibles contaminantes surgidos en las busquedas fotometricas efectuadas en el optico. La espectroscopia de resolucion interna ha permitido distinguir a los mejores candidatos en base al tipo espectral, gravedad, velocidad radial y emision h alfa.  hemos encontrado 6 objetos en la region de transicion estelar\/subestelar con masas en el dominio 0.08= m\/m =0.07, y 7 enanas marrones confirmadas con masas 0.065= m\/m = 0.045. Dos de ellas, teide 1 y calar 3, han superado con exito la prueba del litio, estableciendo asi su naturaleza subestelar. Dadas la luminosidad y la abundancia de litio en la atmosfera de estos objetos, inferimos una masa 0.055+0.010-0.015 m . La pertenencia al cumulo del objeto denominado roque 4 tambien esta confirmada por su fotometria optica e infrarroja y espectroscopia. Es la enana marron menos masiva (0.045+0.010-0.015 m) y mas fria conocida en las pleyades.
