Las razones fundamentales son: su elevada masa que le permite desintegrarse en hadrones y por otra parte, las pocas particulas a las cuales se desintegra, que generan altas eficiencias. Muchos de los canales de desintegracion del tau se diferencian unicamente por el numero de pi0. Por esta razon, la identificacion de estas particulas es esencial para estudiar el tau. En esta tesis se presenta una identificacion de pi0 que dobla en eficiencia a las procedentes en delphi. Estoha permitido mejorar las medidas existentes de 5 canales de desintegracion del tau y medir 3 nuevos, lo que supone el 98% de las desintgegraciones de esta particula.
