Reinhardtii se ha purificado una enzima con actividad tiosulfato-ditiol sulfotransferasa (tsr) y tiosulfato-cianuro sulfotransferasa (rodanasa, rdn).  ambas actividades son cuantitativamente equivalentes, y estudios cineticos indican que el dte y el cianuro compiten por el mismo sitio activo de la enzima, teniendo una actividad 28 veces mayor por dte. Estudios de inhibicion indican que presente al menos un residuo de arginina.  se han separado por primera vez en este alga tres isoenzimas con actividad o-acetil-l-serina (tiol)liasa (oass). El proceso de purificacion consiste fundamentalmente  en una cormotografia en deae-sefacel, donde se separa la primera isoenzima (oass1), y una cromotografia en fenil-sefarosa que separa las otras dos (oass2 y oass3). Las actividades especificas fueron 10,7; 19,8 y 2,0 u\/mg prot.; Respectivamente. Oass1 fue la que mostro mayor afinidad por o-acetil-l-serina (oas), siendo la km 2,5mm, mientras que para sulfuro, el otro sustrato de la reaccion, la masa afin fue oass3 con un valor de km de 0,75mm.
