El analisis toxicologico de una poblacion procedente de filipinas ha mostrado la resistencia de esta poblacion frente a cry1ab y al producto myx-03604. Hemos demostrado la diferencia entre dos muestras de la misma poblacion respecto al nivel de variabilidad genetica. Se ha comprobado que la resistencia en la poblacion de filipinas a cry1ab se debe a un cambio menor en el receptor compartido por las tres icps del grupo cry1a y cry1f; sin embargo, en el caso de las poblaciones de hawai y filipinas, la resistencia se debe a un cambio generalizado en el receptor.
