En esta linea, mientras se mantengan las actuales estructuras monopolistas en la mayoria de los paises, parece necesario y conveniente mantener algun instrumento de control sobre los precios. Otro aspecto ciertamente relevante de nuestro analisis consiste en la necesidad de considerar de manera explicita la intermodalidad. En el caso de la competencia entre el ferrocarril y el autobus, los resultados apuntan que el escenario donde la empresa ferroviaria posee caracter publico es preferido en terminos de bienestar al escenario en el que ambas empresas son privadas. Los resultados obtenidos en la estimacion econometrica apuntan la posibilidad que el desglose de las actuales compa\u00f1ias en dos empresas distintas, produciria importantes incrementos en el nivel de su eficiencia. Por ultimo, los resultados sugieren tambien que el tama\u00f1o de las compa\u00f1ias es un elemento clave en los niveles de eficiencia obtenidos.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>Datos acad\u00e9micos de la
