En ese sentido, nuestro trabajo en los \u00faltimos a\u00f1os ha consistido en el estudio de la se\u00f1alizacion inflamatoria en macr\u00f3fagos, con especial atenci\u00f3n sobre la regulacion de la actividad de nfkb. Ademas, se han analizado mol\u00e9culas que modulen la activacion de nfkb, para su uso como posibles agentes farmacol\u00f3gicos.  de forma resumida podemos destacar:  -las prostaglandinas tipo ciclopentenona, como 15-desoxi-   12,14-pgj2 (15dpgj2), ejercen efectos antiinflamatorios ya que inhiben la expresion de genes como nos-2 y cox-2, inducidos en macr\u00f3fagos estimulados con lipopolisacarido y otras citoquinas proinflamatorias.  -parte de estos efectos son independientes de la union al receptor de proliferacion peroxisomal tipo-y (ppar-y), y son debidos a la inhibicion de la actividad ikb quinasa (ikk) in vitro e in vivo.  -ademas, 15dpgj2 contribuye a la resolucion de la inflamacion promoviendo la muerte por apoptosis de macr\u00f3fagos que han participado en el proceso inflamatorio.  -los diterpenos tipo kauranos, obtenidos del genero sideritis, inhiben la ruta de nfkb. Parte de este efecto se debe a la inibici\u00f3n de la actividad de la quinasa inductora de nfkb.
