Los materiales estudiados de alta area superficial especifica, han sido preparados a partir de precursores obtenidos mediante liofilizacion de disoluciones en acido acetico de los cationes correspondientes.  el analisis de la dependencia de la velocidad intrinseca de combustion del etano con la presion parcial de oxigeno ha permitido establecer que el oxigeno es adsorbido disociativamente sobre la superficie de los oxidos, y que dos especies de oxigeno, el adsorbido y el de red, participan en la reaccion del etano. La relacion lineal encontrada entre la velocidad intrinseca y la desorcion de oxigeno b (temperaturas inferiores a 1100 k) parecen indicar que el par redox que interviene en la oxidacion del etano es el mn4+\/mn3+.  finalmente, se ha determinado el diagrama de fases electronico del sistema la1-xkxmno3+d, siendo la primera vez que se determina un diagrama de fases de este tipo en un sistema en el
