El 47% de los residentes entrevistados supera los 80 a\u00f1os de edad, el 95% carece de estudios primarios y sus profesiones muestran una clara relacion con su nivel cultural.  las principales causas de ingreso son la incapacidad para vivir solos y el miedo a la soledad. Practicamente todos padecen alguna enfermedad cronica y aunque mantienen una correcta capacidad fisica, su actividad es escasa. Aunque muy equilibrada, la ingesta alimentaria se estima como muy insuficiente, tanto en energia como en la mayor parte de los nutrientes esenciales. A pesar de ello es frecuente el sobrepeso y no se detecta desnutricion.  segun los residentes, la atencion sanitaria, las instalaciones y los servicios del centro son satisfactorios, pero se quejan de
