Se comparan los contenidos de metales en las diferentes especies y se estudia la distribucion de los metales en diferentes fracciones de las plantas. En p. Oceanica las mayores concentraciones de cd y zn se encuentran en las hojas, mientras que el pb se acumula mas en las raices. En c.Nodosa los cuatro metales se encuentran en mayores concentraciones en las hojas. En z.Noltii y r. Cirrhosa las mayores concentraciones de hg, cdy pb se encuentran en las raices. P. Oceanica es la especie que presenta mayores concentraciones de hg, cd y zn, destacando las concentraciones de cd y zn en las hojas de esta fanerogama. Las concentraciones de hg y zn en p. Oceanica, en c.Nodosa y en c.Prolifera se correlacionan positivamente con las del sedimento. A la vista de los resultados obtenidos, parece que posidonia oceanica y cymodocea nodosa son buenos biomonitores de la contaminacion por metales pesados en el medio marino, mientras que no lo es tanto
