Las conclusiones mas importantes al respecto son: los bajos grados de deformacion 10, suponen una aceleracion del riesgo de ataque por corrosion intergranular y del agrietamiento intergranular bajo tension. Deformaciones iguales o superiores al 30 suponen un alto riesgo por corrosion transgranular y agrietamiento transgranular bajo tension grados de deformacion intermedios, evaluados en 20, suponen un excelente comportamiento frente a estos modos de ataque siendo esta la condicion aconsejable para toda pieza en servicio sometida a condiciones de sensibilizacion. Se ha identificado que el modo de actuacion de esta variable metalurgica se centra en un cambio de mecanismo de precipitacion inter-transgranular y de la subsiguiente descromizacion.
