En la parte central de la tesis analizamos las piezas que constituyen el compendio y emblema de la critica esceptica del conocimiento: los diez tropos de enesidemo, que atacan los sentidos como criterio de valor del conocimiento, y los tropos de agripa, cuyo ataque se dirige contra cualquier intento de establecer unos fundamentos del conocimiento. Uno de los resultados a que llegamos es que la clase de esceptismo promovida por los tropos de agripa es incompatible con el de los diez, pues aquel es negativo, mientras este pretende ser neutral ante las posiciones a favor y en contra de la posibilidad del conocimiento. En cuanto a las consecuencias que el rechazo del conocimiento y la creencia tiene para el esceptico, ni la concepcion esceptica de los fenomenos es una doctrina positiva ni sexto logra perfilar el
