Los resultados muestran que los ligandos de los receptores trkb y trkc, las neurotrofinas bdnf y nt-3, mantienen la supervivencia y la neuritogenesis de los ganglios coclear y vestibular en preparaciones in vitro. Este efecto, asi como la expresion de los receptores, esta restringido temporalmente a lo largo del desarrollo embrionario. El analisis de los fenotipos auditivos de los ratones mutados en los locus trkb y\/o trkc, ha permitido demostrar la necesidad de la expresion de estos receptores para el desarrollo normal de la inervacion auditiva. Las neuronas cocleares o vestibulares parecen estar organizadas en clases que manifiestan una dependencia estricta de uno u otro receptor, dominando el trkb en el aparato vestibular y el trkc en la coclea. El estudio de las mutaciones a lo largo del desarrollo muestra tambien que la funcionalidad de los receptores trk es indespensable para el mantenimiento de las conexiones entre las neuronas y sus dianas pero no para que tales conexiones se establezcan, constituyendo asi un mecanismo de seleccion de conexiones.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>Datos acad\u00e9micos de la tesis doctoral
