Sus componentes son morfologica y citoquimicamente distinguibles tanto por su ultraestructura y localizacion intracelular como por la composicion y distribucion diferencial de glicoconjugados y enzimas hidrolasas acidas en su interior. En conclusion, este sistema endo-lisosomico representa un modelo valido para el estudio de los procesos de trafico vesicular en las rutas de endocitosis y exocitosis, y de biogenesis de lisosomas, y constituye un ejemplo del modelo de compartimentos preexistentes, en el que el intercambio de materiales entre compartimentos esta mediado por procesos de fusion homotipica y heterotipica, regulados
