Estas muestras han sido dopadas con iones cr3+, ni2+ y mn2+. En el proceso de sintesis se ha desarrollado un metodo de fabricacion de tres etapas que permite aproximar muy bien la composicion nominal a la composicion real de los vidrios, la cual ha sido medida mediante microanalisis elemental por sonda electronica.  se ha estudiado el entorno del ion 3d mediante espectroscopia de absorcion optica y medidas de espectros de excitacion. Las propiedades radiativas de los iones 3d se han estudiado mediante tecnicas de luminiscencia en estado estacionario y en el dominio temporal. Los iones de cloro o bromo van sustituyendo a los iones de fluor como ligandos del ion 3d a medida que aumenta la concentracion de cloro o bromo. En los vidrios dopados con cr3+ y mn2+ se ha analizado la existencia de cinco tipos de entornos vitreos sustitucionales: 6 f-, 5 f- y 1 cl- o br-, 3 f- y 3 cl- o br-, 1 f- y 5cl- o br- y 6 cl- o br-. Ademas en las muestras de concentracion media-alta de bromo dopadas con mn2+, se ha descrito la existencia de cristales de mnbr2. En los vidrios dopados con ni2+ se ha analizado la existencia de cuatro tipos de entornos vitreos sustitucionales: 6 f-, 5 f- y 1 cl- o br-, 1f- y 5 cl- o br- y 6 cl- o br-. Para muestras de concentracion media-alta de halogeno sustituyente se presentan iones ni2+ tetracoordinados en simetria td con iones de cloro o bromo. Para muestras de concentracion intermedia de cl o br se presentan cristales de nic12 y ni br2 respectivamente. En todos los casos se ha observado que para concentraciones de halogeno sustituyente en torno al 5% se consigue una mayoria de entornos del ion 3d totalmente clorados o bromados, lo que indica una
