Para ello se considera la descomposicion invariante espacio-estado de un sistema lineal periodico discreto, y se construye una nueva descomposicion invariante entrada-salida, definida por los parametros de markov periodicos. Se establece una condicion necesaria y suficiente para la existencia de realizaciones periodicas, construyendo realizaciones periodicas canonicas observables o alcanzables. Respecto a las realizaciones periodicas minimales, se demuestra que estas quedan caracterizadas por las propiedades de alcanzabilidad y observabilidad. La dimension de la realizacion minimal viene dada por el rango de la matriz de hankel periodica.
