Tanto los cultivos celulares como las masas neoplasicas desarrolladas en dichos animales se han caracterizado segun parametros morfologicos, histoquimicos e inmunocitoquimicos. Estos tumores se comportan segun criterios especificos que definen su estirpe originaria y la pluripotencialidad de expresion fenotipica de la misma. Los meningiomas humanos presentan una buena capacidad tumorigenica, 70%, en los ratones atimicos, tras el xeroinjerto de estas neoplasias en torax anterior se desarrollan masas tumorales homogeneas, vascularizadas, realizandose con exito heterotrasplantes sucesivos. Los meningiomas presentan una modulacion hormonal ya que su capacidad tumorigenica es significativamente mayor en huespedes hembras. Destacamos un incremento en su fraccion de crecimiento cuando se inoculan simultaneamente con lineas continuas murinas de adenocarcinoma de mama. Las masas tumorales desarrolladas presentan caracteristicas fenotipicas propias de estirpes epiteliales (presencia de ck, ema, patrones morfologicos meningoteliales). Lo que conduce a adjudicar a las estirpes proliferantes o stem cells tumorales, una estirpe o diferenciacion epitelial. El mantenimiento del cociente diferenciacion\/ proliferacion celular que caracteriza a los elementos integrantes de una neoplasia se manifestaria en estos tumores, puesto que las masas desarrolladas en los animales, al ser cultivadas, exhiben caracteristicas morfologicas e inmunocitoquimicas de diferenciacion epitelial.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>Datos acad\u00e9micos de la tesis doctoral
