Se han hecho reaccionar con ciclopentadieno en distintas condiciones empleando ticl4 y alcl3 como catalizadores.  los resultados obtenidos demuestran que los esteres metilicos de n-acriloil-l-fenilalanina y de n-acriloil-l-alanina reaccionan segun un modelo de puente de hidrogeno intramolecular para dar mayoritariamente el aducto endo de configuracion (1r,2r).  los filodienos ciclicos (ester metilico de la n-acriloil-l-prolina) o aciclicos (ester metilico de la n-acriloil-n-metil-l-alanina) reaccionan segun un modelo clasico para catalizadores de aluminio y segun el modelo de complejos quelatos para catalizadores de titanio, debido a la imposibilidad de formar puentes de hidrogeno intramoleculares.  el empleo de la n-metil-l-alanina como auxiliar quiral permite obtener
