La experimentacion se ha realizado fundamentalmente con unos residuos forestales procedentes de la limpieza de bosques. Se ha estudiado la influencia del caudal de aire alimentado y del funcionamiento de sistemas de retirada de cenizas.  los resultados obtenidos se han comparado entre si, con los mostrados en la bibliografia y con los predichos por un modelo.  se ha obtenido un gas practicamente libre de alquitranes y un solido con poder calorifico inferior entre 5.000 y 6.000 kcal\/kg.  para un sistema dado, el rendimiento total a gas y el rendimiento a carbono en gas aumentan con la proporcion de aire (% estequiometrico) introducido, alcanzando valores superiores a 0.90. Las eficacias energeticas obtenidas han sido, en general, superiores a 0.70.
