El trabajo revela que el transportador de glicina es una glicoproteina monomerica de un peso molecular de unos 100 kdo. La proteina solubilizada, en presencia del detergente chaps, posee un coeficiente de sedimentacion de 7.75 y un radio de stokes de 36 a  . La caracterizacion funcional del transportador purificado revela la presencia de residuos de tirosina y\/o histidina en el centro activo o en zonas estericamente relacionadas con el
