Cuando el eu2  se halla disuelto en las muestras se obtienen pulsos exponenciales de vida media        con ligeras variaciones al cambiar de matriz, fundamentalmente debidas al efecto del ligando se realiza un calculo semiteorico de la probabilidad de transicion que conduce a una buena aproximacion del valor de    y se estiman los posibles errores del mismo. La precipitacion de fases tipo e  x2 conduce a una fuerte reduccion de la vida media (  &lt;100 ns) fundamentalmente debida al proceso de precipitacion con un proceso de perdida de luz similar al \u00ab\u00bbquenching\u00bb\u00bb por concentracion\u00bb\u00bb. Un proceso de transferencia de energia tipo dipolo-dipolo electrico permite explicar este comportamiento. La precipitacion de la fase coherente no da lugar a este efecto.
