En primer lugar se analiza la estabilidad de las configuraciones posibles, para seleccionar y clasificar las estables. Se desarrolla un conjunto original de parametros del bucle de orden 3, en base a los cuales se analizan todos los aspectos lineales de su funcionamiento. Se plantea asimismo el bucle optimo en diferentes condiciones.  dentro del analisis no lineal se presenta un metodo original de calculo del margen de enganche, utilizando para las distintas configuraciones de orden 3. El metodo se utiliza tambien para analizar las prestaciones del bucle en presencia de interferencias. Se estudia por simulacion el error de fase causado por el ruido, y las distribuciones obtenidas se comparan con los resultados teoricos de la ecuacion de fokker-planck.
