Carmen <\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>La parte fundamental de este estudio utiliza celulas mesangiales como sustrato de trabajo. La somatostatina es capaz de prevenir y revertir de forma dosis y tiempo dependiente el efecto contractil de la angiotensina ii en celulas mesangiales en cultivo y glamerulos aislados de rata. Conceptualmente esto sugiere, que la somatostatina podria regular de forma directo el grado de contraccion-relajacion de estas estructuras renales. La conclusion fundamental de este trabajo, podria ser, que la somatostatina es capaz de inducir una relajacion de las celulas mesangiales en cultivo y de los glamerulos aislados de rata. Las consecuencias fisiologicas de esta afirmacion, considerando globalmente los resultados, es que la somatostatina mejora la filtraccion glomerular en situaciones caracterizadas por un exceso de vasoconstrictores como podria ser la angiotensina ii, con un adepleccion de volumen importante y una activacion secundaria del sistema renina-angiotensina.
