El nominalismo de gassendi, capaz de explicar el alcance y los limites de la ciencia nueva, de raices medievales y humanismas, se enfrenta a la nueva metafisica propuesta por descartes y hace ver que el intento cartesiano de lograr una evidencia absoluta no es sino una continua peticion de principio porque el punto de partida, la primera evidencia, no logra la autoconciencia plena: el pensamiento solo comparece como pensado no como acto, de modo que el fundamento de pensar queda oculto. Toda la filosofia construida sobre esta primera certeza no es, en contra de lo que piensa descartes, mas evidente y cierta que cualquier otra metafisica.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>Datos
